🔕 Mute, Leave, or Delete? Managing Your Chat Notifications

Let’s explore how to mute, leave, or delete a chat and what happens when you do!

Updated over a week ago

Too many messages? Constant notifications? Sometimes, you just need to control your chat experience—whether it’s muting a chat, leaving a group, or deleting one entirely. Jugl makes it easy to manage your notifications without missing important updates. 🚀

🔕 How to Mute Chats Without Leaving Them

If a chat is active but you don’t need constant notifications, muting is the best option. You’ll still receive messages, but your phone won’t buzz every time someone sends one.

📌 How to Mute a Chat:

1️⃣ Open the chat or group conversation.

2️⃣ Tap the three dots (top-right corner).

3️⃣ Select “Mute Chat”—done!

📢 Example Use Case:

A project discussion is ongoing, but you only need to check in once a day—mute the chat to avoid distractions while staying updated.

💡 Pro Tip: Muting doesn’t remove you from the group—you can check messages anytime.

🚪 What Happens When You Leave a Group Chat?

Sometimes, you no longer need to be in a group. Whether it’s an old project or a completed event, leaving the chat removes you permanently.

📌 How to Leave a Group:

1️⃣ Open the group chat.

2️⃣ Tap the three dots (top-right corner).

3️⃣ Select “Leave Group” and confirm.

📌 What Happens When You Leave?

✅ You will no longer receive messages from the group.

✅ Other members will see a system message that you left.

✅ You won’t be able to rejoin unless added again.

📢 Example Use Case:

A freelancer was added to a temporary project chat—once the project is done, they leave the group to keep their inbox clean.

💡 Heads Up! If you’re the only admin, you must assign new admins before leaving, or the group will be deleted for everyone!

🗑️ How to Delete a Group (Admins Only)

If a group is no longer needed, admins can delete it permanently. This removes all members and deletes all messages.

📌 How to Delete a Group:

1️⃣ Open the group chat.

2️⃣ Tap the three dots (top-right corner) → Select “Delete Group”.

3️⃣ Confirm the action—the group will be erased for all members.

📢 Example Use Case:

An HR team created a temporary hiring group chat—once hiring is complete, the admin deletes the group to declutter workspaces.

💡 Important: Only admins can delete a group. Regular members can only leave.
