Group chats in Jugl make it easier than ever to collaborate, share files, and communicate with multiple people in one place. Whether you’re managing a team project, company announcements, or client discussions, group chats keep everyone connected and organized.


📌 How to Create a Group Chat in Jugl

Setting up a group chat takes just a few steps:

  1. Go to the Chat Module → Tap ➕ (plus icon) at the bottom

  2. Select “New Group”

  3. Enter a Group Name(mandatory)

  4. Add a Profile Picture(optional: take a photo, upload from the gallery, or remove the profile image)

  5. Add Members(mandatory: you must select at least one person to proceed)

  6. Choose members from the workspace contact list or filter by roles(Marketing, Sales, Management, etc.)

  7. Tap “Create Group”

💡 Important:

  • Maximum group size = 250 members

  • If you try adding more than 250, you won’t be able to proceed

  • If a selected user doesn’t have chat permissions, a popup warning will appear

👤 Managing Group Members & Admins

Once your group is set up, you can manage members and assign admin roles as needed.

👑 Admin Controls in Group Chats

Admins have full control over group settings, including:

  • Adding or removing members

  • Assigning or removing admin roles

  • Updating the group name & picture

  • Activating content restrictions & broadcast mode

  • Deleting the group

📌 How to Assign an Admin Role:

  1. Tap the Group Name → Open Group Settings

  2. Scroll to “Members List”

  3. Find the member you want to promote

  4. Tap “3 dots” → Select “Assign Admin Role”

  5. Confirm the action in the popup message

📢 Example Use Case:

A project lead assigns an assistant manager as an admin so they can help manage discussions and add new members.

💡 Note:

  • All admins appear at the top of the member list (sorted alphabetically)

  • If an admin role is removed, the user returns to a regular member status

🚪 What Happens If You’re the Only Admin and Want to Leave?

If you’re the only admin in a group, you must assign a new admin before leaving.

📌 Steps to Assign a New Admin & Leave the Group:

  1. Tap the 3 dots (top-right corner) → Select “Leave Group”

  2. A popup message will warn you that you must assign another admin

  3. Choose at least one new admin from the group

  4. You’ll see a green confirmation message (“2 users were assigned as Chat Admins”)

  5. Confirm “Leave Group”

A team manager moves to another department and transfers admin rights before exiting the group to ensure smooth handover.

🔕 How to Mute, Leave, or Delete a Group Chat

🔇 Muting a Group Chat:

  1. Tap 3 dots (top-right corner) → Select "Mute Chat"

  2. Choose 8 hours, 1 week, or Always

🚪 Leaving a Group Chat:

  1. Tap 3 dots (top-right corner) → Select "Leave Group"

  2. Confirm action in the popup message

🗑 Deleting a Group Chat (Admins Only):

  1. Tap 3 dots (top-right corner) → Select "Delete Group"

  2. Confirm the deletion in the popup message
